How do I play?
Find words by swiping letters up, down, left, right and diagonally. Squares fade out once you've found all the words using them.
Tap the word count to see which words you've found and how long the remaining words are.
When your progress bar reaches the first star, the squares on the board will show a number revealing how many words start with that square. Reach the star after that for another new trick!
Squaredle doesn't include capitalized or hyphenated words.
Stuck? Try rotating the board with the rotate icon.
What's a bonus word?
Obscure, archaic, and (some) slang words are "bonus" words — they're not part of your score, but they show up as "+1" next to the word count. The leaderboard shows who's found the most bonus words. More about bonus words
When does the next puzzle come out?
New puzzles come out each day at 3am Pacific.
Monday puzzles are the easiest; Fridays are the hardest. Saturday puzzles have fun twists, and Sundays have tons of words.
Each day also brings a new 3x3 Express puzzle.
Can I use a physical keyboard?
Yes! Type out the letters, then press <
Enter> to submit the word. Use <Backspace> to delete a letter. The <Space bar> toggles between squares that have the same letter, if you're a visual thinker. What's with the score?
Longer words are worth more points, bringing you closer to unlocking the next perk. Most daily puzzles have a word that is at least 8 letters long.
The globe icon represents the average of everyone's score today, and you can find more details in the "Your scores" "You" tab of the leaderboard.
